I want to first start off by saying I have been super lucky lately.God keeps putting people and blessings in my life that motivate me to push on.I know you are all into the pictures in the slide show so I should probably explain them!
So I honestly had nothing planned this weekend but to sleep since last week was so tiring for me.But of course you know I cannot sit still.Iesha and I planned on going to Japones Jardin and Puerto Madero to take pictures and just catch up.I hadn't seen her since Lugan Zoo. So off we were,to one of the Most BEAUTIFUL GARDENS I have ever seen.I highly recommend it with a good friend, photographer,or loved one.We honestly had wayyy too much fun.Taking pictures and making each other laugh in each others photos. We attracted an audience! One lady came up to us and told us how beautiful she thought we were, how beautiful she thought black people were.
After we headed to Puerto Madero for more pictures and back to her apartment to kick it.It honestly was a lot of fun even though we really didn't do anything. It's nice to have someone like Iesha around who is like minded and experiencing a lot of the same things I am.She's honestly a great friend and I hope we continue to stay friends while we are here and when we go back.
I FINALLY have a language partner...I was being lazy and decided to finally get one to help me, give me an Argentine friend, and some incentive. We decided to meet at Starbucks.Of course, my host mom had a lot of questions for me about my language partner.I honestly did not know anything about them.It made me absolutely nervous because I did not even know what they looked like(I tried to fb creep but was unsuccessful). I arrived to Starbucks to see this BEAUTIFUL ITALIAN MAN Dressed in this nice suite in front of Starbucks. Two of my favorite things:1) Starbucks 2) A fine man in a suite
This was my language partner,Santiago!Besides being gorgeous, he is 24,fluent in 3 languages, has his master degree in business, a nice job,and loves to travel(My host mother and grandmother were SOOO HAPPY ). We spoke only a little Spanish because the conversation was so good and we just kept forgetting, LOL!We promised each other all Spanish next time we meet!Won't even lie, he was a great investment to the "Brianna Nannette learn Spanish Foundation". His future contributions will be very much appreciated.
I only have 4/5 weeks left but I plan on making the most of it by getting as busy as possible with things in the community.Something has come over me that has revamped my desire to serve and give back.I have been taking up space in Buenos Aires for a while, so I think it is time to put in what I have taken out. I have switched my internships to Ciudadnos del Mundo. The organization helps immigrants adjust to Argentine culture, helps them find work, obtain visas, and helps with discrimination issues that they may come along.I just started but I think I am going to love.Of course, it is going to push my level of Spanish but I am ready.I will also be doing more work with ICANA/Education USA, so I am super excited.
