The fun NEVER stops! This weekend was way more fun than I expected it to be.
SO my friday started with the EPIC Britinia day(=Brianna+ Christina). We decided to head to the famous Cafe Tortoni. It one of the most famous cafe's in BA.Sometimes they have a line stretched down the street depending the day.Luckily, we got there before the line formed. The architecture was breath taking,it was stunning.I fell in love with the place and the coffee.I am officially addicted to coffee..Thank You Buenos Aires. We enjoyed our coffees accompanied by laughs and great conversation. We rushed back to IES for the TOUR OF THE RESIDENCE OF THE US AMBASSADOR OF BA.I had suggested to the director,Leo about doing this kind of tour, but we both didn't know how possible it was.He suprised me with the offer last week! One thing about the staff at IES..THEY GO OUT OF THEIR WAY FOR THE NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF THEIR STUDENTS.
THAT TOUR WAS A DREAM.The house was..too epic for words.I think I really loved that they brought in FSOs to talk to us about their experiences and answer our questions.Sadly all my questions were answered a few weeks ago..now I have to make decisions.COULD I see myself being an FSO 5-10 years from now?Stay tunedddd..
My night end with MORE COFFEE at the cafe Santiago and I decided to meet up at followed by spanglish conversation.
Saturday went wayyyy faster than I expected. It is officially Spring here so the weather is in the 70s throughout most of the week.I love the weather but I know when I get back home I will be in shock with the Ohio winter and snow.*sad face* ENTONCES. We were off to a RUGBY! Other people, along with myself knew NOTHING about Rugby. In BA rugby is a HUGE thing. When we got there people were decorating their faces with their favorite team. There was a a section designated for the fanatics. Those fans were LOCA! They brought flags, blow horns, confetti, and other things to bring attention to them. The two teams were C.U.B.A (who hadn't won the championship in 43 years) and HINDU. We all decided to vote for the underdog,C.U.B.A. The hype of the crowd got us ALL excited for the team.We sang the cheers with them and yelled at the players in true Argentine fashion. The game lasted an hour(shocking right?) and C.U.B.A won! People rushed to the field screaming and cheering. We rushed to the field with them.We were all cheering,The players and the fans were crying together(these are 6'4+ men crying hysterically),little kids were getting their jerseys signed. We got a few pictures with the players and ended up under a huge team flag dancing around cheering with other players. We had witnessed history and it was AMAZING!!!
After an amazing evening we were off to a language Partner ASADO!!! Idk why Santiago was hesistant about the night, he had MORE fun than I did and I was excited....typical men. After a full tummy I curled up with Scandal and went to bed.
The weekend was AWESOME.I Honestly feel as if I have a life here.Outside of IES.INTERNSHIP,Language partner & college mentee, and friends outside my program. I am homesick but I don't want to leave. It is a constant tug of war.Thinking about leaving makes me wants to cry but being reuniting with my family makes me want to cry as well.I am a mess!!!!I have so much to accomplish these last 3 weeks. I can't even believe my time is almost up. Time flies huh?
Nos Vemos!
