I'd have to say another great week.Though The actual going to class part was tiring and stressful. The events that took place outside of that were Pretty WASSSUP. So on Wednesday I got invited to go to a Boliche for the GRATIS. No usually I don't party on the weekday but I cannot pass up free food, free drinks, and free entry. I was IN. As important as it is to have Argentine friends, I think it is equally important to have other American friends outside of your program. So glad I met these AWESOME girls! It was a great night..though I felt super guilty for missing my 9am (WHY that class is at 9 is BEYOND ME) it was worth it!
Saturday I actually went and did something!Lol I decided to sign up for another bike tour.I hadn't been to San telmo before and actually fell in love! It had that Bohemian flare that I have a soft spot for<3 I even found the Mafalda statue that I had been looking for since I got to BA. I honestly just stumbled upon it.Sometimes the very things that you stumble upon are often the best things.I should not have gone on that bike tour.I definetly fell TWICE on my bicicleta which REALLY pissed me off. Then legs cramped up..it was ALL BAD.On a positive note I have learned to have a small love for Mate. i could not stand the drink at first but since I have become more Argentine with time my love has developed. The distraction of good/awkward conversation and sweet crackers made it much better.
Sadly I must say my Saturday night was spent cuddling with my pillow, imaginary Argentine pololo(chilean slang for boyfriend) and Scandal (I cant and WONT curve the scandal habit)
So after meeting with Guada on Sunday, I made my way back to my love San Telmo. The San Telmo fair. I had not been and had heard so many great things about it. I also needed to start shopping for souvenirs. It was a win-win. So with my columbian empanada in hand and desire to shop I was on the MOVE! I actually got soo many great deals and some cute sovs! I think the thing that made the place soo great was 1) the market was stretched for 6 blocks! 2)Full of Locals <--- Anyone who knows me knows I love to do things locals do. So while some people will be receiving gifts that are touristy most people will be receiving things locals have.
